Builder: Home Owner
This project is a remodeling of a
house designed by Bergstedt and
Hirsch in 1954. The home’s interior
was redesigned to be compatible
with today’s lifestyle. Partitions were
removed to create larger, more contiguous
spaces. The kitchen and master suite were
enlarged and brought up to date. Detailing
enhances the original post-and-beam roof
structure and is in keeping with the ’50s
modernist style. The exterior is unchanged
except for minor repair. This home is a
totally up-to-date “not so big house” that
is 53 years old yet totally contemporary.
