Contractor: Choice Wood Company

Currently the home of two architects, this house overlooking Minnehaha Creek was designed by architect Carl Stravs in 1923. The original owner was a writer who frequently contributed to the shelter magazines of the time. His articles often featured the process of designing and building this home, and the wonder of living in a place so connected to nature. To take fuller advantage of the setting, an addition updates the original cottage by adding a simple gable form to the back with the kitchen on the main floor, master bedroom upstairs, and a guest/playroom on the lower level.
