The design of this home is a marriage
of family and community into
a compact, contemporary home for
four in the context of a small-town early-
20th-century neighborhood. The team
of clients, architects, and builders, all
local, collaborated on a modestly priced,
energy-efficient, LEED-inspired structure.
The home is furnished with a simple, colorful
collection from Autumn Cottage, the
clients’ hometown store. Factory-produced
advanced building materials reduce waste
and are sheathed in low-maintenance
composite materials, painted in a community-
compatible color.
