The homeowners fell in love with a wooded, secluded lot sloping down towards the St. Croix River Bluffs. They felt at home in the natural setting and built a beautiful pool, yet they felt the existing home wasn't taking full advantage of the dramatic views and their desire for a more open, light-filled home. For years, they followed the architecture of Charles R. Stinson Architects, including seeing their work at several home tours. Stinson and his team developed a cohesive architectural plan for the site, including a soaring new home perched above the existing pool and a bluff-top art studio on the footprint of the original cabin built on the site. The result is a timeless composition in harmony with the natural surroundings, abundant with light and with a seamless indoor-outdoor flow of space.
